    RESUM TREBALL FINAL DE GRAU EN INFERMERIA NÚRIA LLÀDSER NAVARRO 1 ABSTRACT: BACKGROUND: Honey is a sweet and viscous fluid produced by bees from the nectar of flowers or secretions of certain insects. Healing the wounds with this natural remedy is an issue as old as human history. Testing studies on animals and some clinical trials have shown the benefits of honey as a treatment of wounds and their healing properties, but all honey in our country not just come in the therapeutic system health probably because there is not much studies of high quality or not given the importance they have achieved recognition of other products as linitul the biatain the iruxol the blastoestimulinaor aquacel with which shares objectives and various features. OBJECTIVE: General: Describe the role of honey healing in chronic wounds. Specific: Explores what effect the honey in chronic wounds determining the type of honey used for this type of injury, its properties, healing time and the type of injury that can be treated with this natural product. METHODOLOGY: This literature review is made up of scientific publications between 2001 and 2015 developed through the following databases: Pubmed, Scopus, Cuidatge, Cuiden, Scielo, IBEC and Dialnet. For the introduction of articles criteria previously defined inclusion and exclusion are taken into account. RESULTS: Of the 157 items found, 20 were selected to be analyzed and studied. The results achieved were divided in three sections: in the first, there is talk of healing time compared to conventional dressings; in the second, very different honeys from different geographical origins are analyzed; and the third, has made a visual picture which explains very briefly the effect the different honeys in the different types of woundslos. CONCLUSIÓN: Although all studies, honey is not yet part of the general therapeutic solutions applied to wounds because many of these published works are of low quality and, consequently, lack scientific evidence for clinical application.
