Abstract:
This bachelor’s thesis investigates various parameters at the Tarragona Wastewater Treatment Plant from September 2023 to April 2024. It explains the plant’s operation, emphasizing the need for a monitoring program to comply with legislation. The function of a new ammonia probe and the basics of nitrification and denitrification are discussed. Sampling methods, analysis frequency, and results are presented, showing over 90% treatment efficiency compared to average Catalan data and discharge permit requirements. The thesis confirms the plant’s correct operation and the importance of each analysis, concluding with an assessment of whether the objectives were met.
