Abstract:
The aim of the project is the design and construction of a water slide for the developer LARVEC SA at the Capfun campsite in Montblanc, located on the Prenafeta road at kilometer 1.8 In the creation of the new water attraction, the UNE-EN 1069-1:2017+A1 and UNE-EN 1069-2 standards are rigorously followed to ensure the highest safety standards for a public-use facility. This ensures that the slide is designed and built to withstand the intensive use it will experience during the summer season when many camping customers will use the new attraction. To meet the technical requirements, a script is first generated in MATLAB to produce a set of coordinates that describe the slide's trajectory. Next, theoretical expressions are used to derive the speeds, accelerations, time, and forces acting along the route at the determined points under established conditions. Finally, the joints between the composite pieces and between the slide assembly and the supporting structure are sized, ensuring that all connections meet the necessary safety and durability requirements. As a result of the new attraction, a 33-square-meter stainless steel platform is planned, allowing access to the slide's launch area. This structure will have isolated foundation footings, occasionally combined, made of reinforced concrete, connected by tie beams to ensure stability and strength. Regarding the outcome, a reception pool is planned, allowing both the simultaneous swimming of clients and the use of the slide, significantly increasing the capacity of the developer's facilities. Finally, the hydraulic installation will dimension the necessary pipes for the proper functioning of the pool, calculate the pump that supplies water towards the slide, and determine the compensation tank that ensures stability in the volume changes of the pool's water.
