    Abstract:
This paper analyzes the effect of income inequality on economic growth during the period between 2012 and 2016. Specifically, a sample of 52 countries. The choice of these countries has been determined by data availability. The models used to analyze this effect are those proposed by Alesina and Rodrick (1994) and by Shen, C., and Zhao, X. (2023). These models are estimated, following Alesina and Rodrick (1994), using the Ordinary Least Squares estimation method. The conclusion of this paper is that the effect of income inequality on economic growth is positive and does not differ across countries according to income level.
