Abstract:
ABSTRACT What is the job of a paediatric nurse in a primary health assistance centre? Which are the culturally competent cares? Are these applied day-by-day? In order to answer these questions and to determine the level of implementation of the current protocol cultural competence of "Immigrant child assistance", this study was held. It is divided in two major parts: a systematic analysis of information and interviews to nurses who work daily with the mentioned protocol. Two interviews were performed and so it was discovered that, although cultural cares are applied, they are insufficient. Concluding, the current protocol has to be revised; especially the part of "Immigrant child assistance" and some suggestions are included. It would be worthy as well, to form professionals in such cares in order to improve the service they offer.
