Abstract:
ABSTRACT THE WORLD OF VACCINATION FROM A POINT OF VIEW FROM NURSING STUDENTS. Knowledge and perception of the future nursing professional about HPV vaccine. Objective: analyze the degree of knowledge they have nursing students about different aspects of vaccination against HPV. Method: review and quantitative study of observational and descriptive type about 150 nursing students of the University Rovira i Virgili from the Catalunya Campus through an Ad hoc questionnaire. Results: in terms of knowledge about vaccination in general have successful 46% (n = 69) of the participants and 94 % (n=141) about the HPV vaccination. 85.5% (n = 130) thinks that it has not received enough information about the vaccine of the HPV during the degree. 21% (n = 31) considered that the benefits far outweigh the adverse effects and 83.3% (n = 125) believes that the high price of doses is an impediment to get this vaccine. Conclusions: nursing students say that they have not received enough information about the vaccination, in particular about the vaccine against the Human Papillomavirus during the degree, although 100% consider it important for his profession. It could admit that there is a lack of knowledge on the subject. On the other hand, most are not vaccinated against HPV; however, we note that this lack of vaccination is not based on the major ethical debates, but rather by the high economic cost.
