    Authors:  Puerto Belda, David
    Abstract:
Complex regional pain syndrome type I (CRPS-I) is a chronic neurological disease that primarily affects the limbs and causes severe pain, motor disturbances, and changes in the skin. It is more common in women and can emerge after injuries such as fractures, negatively impacting quality of life. Its pathophysiology is complex, making treatment challenging. This systematic review analyzed eight studies with 274 participants, highlighting the effectiveness of techniques such as TENS, mirror therapy, and pain exposure, especially in subacute and chronic phases. It is concluded that physiotherapy is essential for managing CRPS-I, always with an individualized approach.
