    Abstract:
Maternal diets during lactation can affect breast milk composition and infant health. This systematic review compares the impact of vegan and vegetarian diets with omnivorous diets during lactation. Included studies assessed breast milk composition and various infant health indicators. Results show that certain nutrients, such as fatty acids and some trace minerals, may differ based on maternal diet. Supplementation may offset some differences, but variability remains high. Additionally, there is a lack of studies on infant growth and neurodevelopment, highlighting the need for more longitudinal research with standardized methods
