    Abstract:
In recent years, the demand for biofuels has grown significantly, with biodiesel at the forefront. The oleaginous yeast Rhodosporidium toruloides stands out for its potential to transform low-cost substrates into lipids convertible into biodiesel, although the use of plant hydrolysates as a substrate is limited by the presence of growth-inhibiting compounds. This work aims to obtain more resistant mutants through random mutagenesis and evolutionary adaptation. The results show strains super-resistant to inhibitors, advancing towards more efficient, sustainable and applicable industrial processes for biotechnological production.
