    Abstract:
Atherosclerosis drives cardiovascular disease (CVD), the leading global cause of death, particularly through acute coronary syndromes (ACS). Despite progress in high-income countries, global CVD trends remain varied, highlighting the need for better prevention strategies. This study reviewed literature and systematically analyzed Phase III clinical trials targeting inflammation, thrombosis, and lipid metabolism in secondary ACS prevention. Seventeen new trials were identified: 2 on inflammation, 7 on antiplatelet/antithrombotic therapies, and 8 on lipid-lowering agents, including 5 novel drugs. The findings underscore the importance of integrated, personalized therapies targeting multiple pathways to improve outcomes for high-risk patients after ACS.
