ABS Quality Control according to ISO IATF 16949 regulations; statistical study of the Fluidity Index

Abstract:
ABS is one of the most widely used polymers in the thermoplastic markets, especially in the automotive sector. This project proposes to implement the ISO IATF 16949 standard at ELIX Polymers to establish quality requirements in the automotive industry. The importance of controlling relevant characteristics, such as the melt flow rate measured using the MVR technique, is highlighted. Two types of ABS materials with different melt flows will be selected and a statistical R&R evaluation will be performed to verify whether the results follow an appropriate quality control.
