Optimization of the synthesis of gold nanostars using polyvinylpyrrolidone: study of the influence of additives on the synthesis

    Abstract:
    In this final degree project, the synthesis of seeds and nanostars has been carried out. The problem of PVP distributed by different suppliers has been experimentally seen, and the effect of 8 additives on PVP in the synthesis of nanostars has been investigated. The difference between two seed samples has been studied with TEM, and an attempt has been made to find the cause of the difference. Several methods for the synthesis of nanostars have also been tested when testing with additives, adding an unplanned additive due to a hypothesis based on the results that were being obtained.
