    Abstract:
The carboxylative cyclization of carbon dioxide (CO2) with propargylic alcohols is an important route to achieve the reuse of CO2. This process is carried out using ionic liquids as catalysts, together with metal salts in catalytic amounts, allowing work under mild reaction conditions. The cyclic carbonates obtained serve as intermediates for the synthesis of fine chemical compounds, in this case, to synthesize nitrogen compounds such as urethanes and urea. Throughout this work, several ionic liquids (LIs) have been synthesized to study the catalytic activity of each one. The reaction conditions of the different stages of the process studied have also been optimized in order to achieve high conversions and yields.
