Blockchain and Decentralized Finance: New business strategies in the financial sector

Abstract:
This project analyzes how decentralized finance, based on blockchain technology, could impact the organization and strategy of traditional banks. The goal is to understand whether this new model can be integrated into the current financial system and what changes it would imply for financial institutions and users. The methodology combines theory, comparison between traditional and decentralized services, and analysis of strategic models: full adoption, hybrid model, or continuation of the traditional system. A survey of 103 people was also conducted to assess their opinion of the banking system and their knowledge of DeFi, and interest in decentralized services.
