    Abstract:
ASTRACT Bull horn wounds are a very common condition in Spain, where shows involving horned animals are frequent -especially during the summer months-. The mentioned wounds refer to injuries caused by the collision with a horned animal and present very particular features. Hence, these emergencies will definitely require very specific care from the nursing staff. As a consequence, a patient wounded from a bull horn is considered a multiple trauma and therefore must be treated accordingly from the first assistance. Objectives: This paper seeks to describe the role of nursing in the bullfighting acts and to justify the importance of staff’s proper training. Methodology: Bibliographic review of 22 articles published between 2000 and 2015. Conclusion / Discussion: A patient who has been injured by a horn must be considered a trauma patient and should be treated as such. Consequently, once the permeability of the airway, ventilation control and hemodynamic stability have been assured, the attention should focus to possible associated injuries. The presence of a skilled medical team is a must due to the characteristics of these type of injuries. Their treatment will require specific care for which a trained nursing staff is essential.
