Critical patient’s family is an important part of this process, also being a stressful situation for them. It is performed an exhaustive search in different electronic databases from October 2015 to March 2016 makes selecting the items according to the criteria of inclusion and exclusion. To obtain information, have used databases with a deadline of 9 years back. The literature searches databases has been completed with results obtained in repositories such as Google Scholar , Scielo or Elsevier, among others , as well as manual research , for a total of 27 items . It’s important to keep this stress and anxiety within limits to avoid them from affecting negatively both physical and mental health. To deal with the situations and factors that cause them, there are coping strategies, such as relaxation techniques, healthy lifestyle or asking for environmental support. It can be concluded that Intensive Units generate a lot of tension and stress on the medical staff, as well as on critical patients and their families, requiring monitoring the potential stressors and performing any coping strategy that adjusts to each patient.
