    Abstract:
    This project aims to modify the current installation through energy integration in the production of VCM in order to optimize the process. The energy optimization of the process will not affect the production capacity of the facility, which allows for a reduction in the use of steam and natural gas and, consequently, CO₂ emissions. This reduction increases the company’s economic benefits. In this way, the project investment will amount to €4.2 million, which will be recovered in 1 year and 8 months, as annual savings of €2.9 million are expected from the reduced use of natural gas.
