    Abstract:
ABSTRACT: Currently, breast cancer is the second leading cause of death in females and is the type of cancer where the number of survival is very high (82.2%) for the early detection and new treatments. This disease is influenced by many factors that affect both physically and psychologically, resulting in a decrease in the quality of life of women who suffer. This work has made a literature review of 22 articles where almost everyone speaks about the side effects (hair loss, surgical wound, etc.) and how it affects the self-esteem of women, seven articles comparing what kind surgery has less physical scars / psychological and 15 articles which talk about psychological therapies are effective strategies to improve coping and acceptance to the new condition. It can be concluded that the type of surgery, type of treatment, economic, social and family of the person significantly influences the acceptance and coexistence of the disease and psychological therapies both individually and in groups are effective to answer questions from patients, improve coping strategies and talk about the fears expressed, which helps them to accept the disease.
