    Authors:  Turowiecki Zambito, María Franceska
    Abstract:
This study analyzes whether corruption influences the allocation of official development assistance and whether such aid contributes to improving corruption control in recipient countries. To this end, the model developed by Alesina and Weder (2002) is extended using a sample of 73 countries covering the 2005–2023 period, and panel data estimation techniques are applied. The results indicate that corruption does not serve as a decisive criterion in the allocation of official development assistance and that there is no robust evidence suggesting that aid leads to subsequent improvements in corruption control.
