Abstract:
The project addresses depopulation in Zamora through a city-campus model. To curb the exodus of young people and the hollowing out of the historic center, the proposal involves integrating new university faculties into abandoned lots and buildings, offering academic programs linked to the local economy. The heart of this network is the new central library, situated opposite the Cathedral and the Castle. Designed as a concrete cloister, it creates a new urban park and serves as the campus hub. The goal is to use the university as a demographic driver to revitalize the city center.
