Abstract:
The work consists in restoring an old house to make it rural. I do not want to my house to be identified as an old, low cost and with limitations but the opposite. My idea is to preserve and exalt the characteristics that the house has but at the same time, give it a modern twist. When I say limitations I mean that I do not want that my business is based on providing only a place to sleep and eat but to create experiences, make my clients involved with the landscape, with nature, that they know Pauls. I do not pretend to offer the minimum required by the authorities but rather pursuing a quality service. I intend to achieve this by offering different types of guest rooms so they can choose the room in which they feel more comfortable, providing a restaurant service, exclusively, for guests and organizing events and activities. The house in question is located in Pauls, a village in the region of “Baix Ebre”, which has 596 inhabitants and is part of the Natural Park of Ports. In addition, its location is unique because it is located on a hill and surrounded by mountains causing the houses are staggered to overcome the height difference. These features make it a perfect destination for rural tourism. The growth in demand and low competition encourage me to go ahead with the business. From the commercial point of view is viable because there is market, it is an attractive place and this type of tourism is becoming a main choice. However, the financial viability depends on advertising and start-up costs, which are making losses in the short term but in any business there is a risk and, as Steve Jobs said what separates the successful entrepreneurs from those who have failed is the perseverance.
