ADHD in women: diagnostic barriers and professional consensus for its detection

Abstract:
Identifying ADHD in adult women remains complex due to multiple barriers in clinical practice. Therefore, this study aims to design a practical guide to optimize its detection, based on a literature review and a Delphi study with 14 experts conducted in two rounds. Consensus was reached on all items, with agreement rates ranging from 79% to 100%. The final guide integrates warning signs, an assessment protocol, and a checklist based on the DSM-5-TR, along with the panel's contributions, offering a helpful tool to improve the diagnostic process.
