Abstract:
This final degree project analyzes the relationship between adult attachment and the interpretation of ambiguous interpersonal situations in young adults. Dimensions of attachment anxiety and avoidance are evaluated, as well as secure, anxious, and avoidant responses to ambiguous situations. In addition, a task involving the recognition of emotional facial expressions is included, and the amygdala is proposed as a possible neuropsychological basis for the processing of ambiguous or threatening social cues. The results highlight that attachment anxiety is associated with more anxious responses and fewer secure responses.
