    Identifier:  TFG:9868
    Authors:  Blas Veloso, Leonor
    Abstract:
This study analyzes the impact of digital platform use on the body image of 81 young participants (16-24 years old). Using correlation and linear regression analyses, the researchers assessed how social media addiction predicts body dissatisfaction. The results revealed a positive and significant relationship, demonstrating that digital dependence is a predictor of body image issues. Furthermore, gender differences were found: women exhibited a higher risk profile for addiction and aesthetic concerns. These findings validate Social Comparison Theory and underscore the need to implement preventative strategies in the virtual environment.
