Resumen:
ABSTRACT Eating disorders are mental health diseases that mostly affect young people and females. They are a major public health problem, due to the increase in incidence and also the associated high morbidity in recent years. The purpose of the study is to know the role of nursing in the approach of patients with eating disorders influenced by social networks during adolescence, because specially during this stage of life people are in a personal growth and their bodies suffer a lot of physical, emotional and social cognitive changes, therefore they are a vulnerable population. For the realization of the work has been made a systematic search in various databases on the role of nursing before patients with eating disorders mediated by a risk factor such as social networks and have been addressed different topics such as self-esteem, patient-professional communication nursing, media, socio-familial environment, alternative therapies etc. As a result we find out that there is a very close relationship between the use of social media and the development of eating disorders, so as health professionals we must put in place the tools and knowledge that we have in our hands and, To prioritize prevention as the first line of battle in order to obtain early detection and prevent the development of these diseases. In conclusion, I emphasize the relationship and communication between patient and nurse, so as to affiliate the relationship and gain greater confidence in order to increase support in the health system. In addition to strengthening prevention and health education as essential measures, as well as regulating and restricting the use of social networks.
