    Abstract:
The occupation of land through its development (whether residential or industrial purposes) is an important territorial issue because is an irreversible process and has a great influence on other economic sectors, especially primary. Otherwise, the industrial sector is the engine of economic progress in advanced societies. This work pretends to reflect on the model and the evolution of land use for industrial use from the evaluation of a particular area, the Alt Camp region, and for a certain period of time, through a quantitative analysis using GIS and a description of the most important industrial areas. The analysis focused on several variables; the land classified for industrial use (urban and developable) from various sources; consolidated soil, either for industrial or for industries in undeveloped land; and the relationship between communication infrastructures and hydrographic network with industrial development in the region.
