Development of a Numerical Tool to Simulate a Water Injection Process in Oil Reservoirs

  • Identification data

    Identifier:  TFM:1554
    Authors:  García Navarrete, Luis Armando
    Abstract:
This work presents a tool capable of simulating and analyzing different exploitation scenarios for saturated oil reservoirs using water injection as a secondary recovery method. Specifically, it allows you to visualize the transient pressure and saturation fields of each of the phases, for all defined time steps, in addition to the oil production at the end of said period, all using field units. The main benefit of water injection is the increase or maintenance of pressure within the reservoir and the sweeping of oil into the porous medium.
