Abstract: Compared to experimental tests, sometimes excessively expensive and impossible to address, or analytical models, usually imprecise, computational methods have gained strength in determining the fire load curve. However, these techniques are computationally expensive, so this Master's Final Project delves into the understanding of the physics involved in the spread of a fire in order to develop and validate simplified CFD models. These allow estimating the main characteristics of the combustion of a solid, that is, its heating, pyrolysis, ignition and flame propagation stages.
