    Abstract:
Companies are implementing circular economy strategies to combat climate change, particularly in the plastics industry where polymers are recycled to create new feedstock. Dow is evaluating various syngas conversion technologies, using an innovative hybrid catalyst to obtain hydrocarbons. The project aims to determine the optimal separation strategy for recovering hydrocarbons from the syngas reactor's outlet mixture. Extensive research identified molecular sieves as the most suitable method for water separation, while amine washing was identified as the best strategy for carbon dioxide recovery. Cryogenic distillation, utilizing turbo-expansion, was selected over extractive distillation for hydrocarbon recovery due to its lower energy consumption.
