Title in different languages: Application of clays in CO2 valorisation reactions
Abstract: With the development of modern industry, carbon dioxide (CO2) has attracted more attention due to its influence on the greenhouse effect. Based on this, the transformation of CO2 into added-value chemicals has a promising area in modern green and sustainable chemistry. In this thesis, several hectorites were synthetized to be used as catalytic supports for the transformation of CO2 into high added value products (carbonates and carbamates) from alkynols. The catalytic system is based on a metallic salt (Ag or Cu) supported on hectorite and impregnated with an ionic liquid (EMI.Levu). Several carbonates and carbamates were successfully synthetized. Conversion and selectivity of the reactions were determined by 1H NMR analysis of the crude reaction mixture dissolved in CDCl3.
