  • Identification data

    Identifier:  TFM:1672
    Authors:  Prieto Bercianos, Marina
    Abstract:
In 2004, the child population of Equatorial Guinea showed adherence to adequate breastfeeding and complementary feeding patterns, although a negative trend has been observed over the years. However, caloric and nutrient intake was much lower than the recommendations, especially highlighting the low intake of proteins and micronutrients, such as iron, calcium, vitamin A, zinc and sodium. These deficiencies in intake are related to factors such as geographic area, age of children and malaria infection among other socioeconomic causes.
