Optimization of LumiUCIO's formula

  • Identification data

    Identifier:  TFM:1740
    Authors:  Uroz Mas, Celia
    Abstract:
Nothing disappears without a trace. The luminol test is the most widely used forensic biochemical technique in the presumptive detection of bloodstains. The present work focuses on evaluating the effect of hydrogen peroxide and luminol, as well as Artemisinin and Artesanat on the light intensity of the reaction and the degradation of the sample's DNA. The chemiluminescent intensity and its duration were evaluated against several variants of the LumiUCIO reagent in blood samples. It was shown that reagents with a lower concentration of hydrogen peroxide and luminol are more suitable.
