    Abstract:
Fecal incontinence and alterations in the desire to defecate are common in patients with low spinal cord injury, affecting their quality of life. Due to the limited effectiveness of current treatments, it seeks to explore new options. This project proposes a randomized, double-blind and placebo-controlled clinical trial, which will evaluate a neurorehabilitation program that combines biofeedback and electrostimulation in 88 adult patients with sacra spinal cord injury and fecal incontinence. Changes in the severity of incontinence and quality of life will be measured before and after 12 weeks of treatment, as well as after 6 and 12 months of follow-up. The results could provide evidence on the effectiveness of these techniques in improving the quality of life of patients with spinal cord injury.
