Heat Integration Study Of Two Polypropylene Production Plants

    Abstract:
    The objective of the Master's Thesis is to conduct a heat integration study of two polypropylene plants. The methodology of the project is based on pinch analysis. After analyzing the processes, three different alternatives were proposed for the first plant, and one alternative for the other, involving the combination of internal streams. The first alternative was rejected due to an increase in electricity consumption, and the second one due to the payback period, leading to the selection of alternatives 3 and 4. For the selection of the two alternatives, basic engineering was performed by implementing both alternatives in the process.
