Hydraulic and thermodynamic simulation of the propane delivery system to complete flow rate increase engineering study

    Abstract:
    This master thesis aims to provide solutions to increase the capacity of the propane heating and pumping station of BASF Española S.L. For this purpose, a static simulation of the propane heating and delivering process has been designed using Aspen HYSYS®. This model has been validated using real data. The current limitations of the process have been determined: on the one hand, the heating capacity in winter and on the other hand, the pumping capacity limited by the current equipment. Twoimprovement proposals have been found and technical and economical comparisons of the realisation of both projects have been presented.
