    Abstract:
    BASF Tarragona's WWTP handles a stream rich in titanium oxychloride and hydrochloric acid. After neutralization, a biphasic solution is produced, containing a problematic aqueous phase and titanium hydroxide, which is currently discarded due to high chloride and sodium levels. The study delves into ion cleaning processes, market potential, and infrastructure modifications aimed at commercializing titanium dioxide. Economic analysis estimates capital costs at €322k, with an investment recovery period of less than a year.
