    Abstract: Supercapacitors are gaining popularity as energy storage devices. Their long cycle life and fast charging capabilities have made them an alternative to batteries. To find the appropriate application for these devices it is important to know their main characteristics. In this project, a test bench for characterization is presented, following a charge and discharge profile at different constant current rates, measuring the voltage and the temperature. A selection of five supercapacitors is tested and compared with each other and against the data provided by the manufacturers.
