Optimization and Validation of a Method for the Determination of Acrylamide in Drinking and Surface Waters Using SPE/LC-MS/MS

    Abstract:
    This work addresses the need to implement new analytical methods to detect emerging contaminants in drinking water, following Royal Decree 03/2023, which includes compounds such as acrylamide. The LQAigua laboratory of the Tarragona Water Consortium monitors the quality of potable water and water collected from the Ebro River. This report describes the optimization, validation and implementation of a method based on SPE and LC-MS/MS to determine acrylamide, with the aim of obtaining future accreditation according to ISO 17025.
