    Abstract: This project is conducted in collaboration with BASF SE, in the Tarragona site in Spain. More specifically, in the Cluster AP Unit, which is composed by two factories where active ingredients (AI) and fungicides and pesticides products are produced in the Kresoxim-methyl plant and the Formulation Plant. The main goal of the project is to determine the viability of recovering one of the raw materials for the Boscalid Iso Water Moist (IWM) production line, located in the Kresoxim-methyl plant and its’ possible applications in the process. The Boscalid IWM production line generates a waste stream consisting of Tetrahydrofuran (THF) diluted in water, which is discharged from the process during the cleaning stage of a filter. This residual waste stream needs to be further diluted in order to comply with the limits set by environmental regulations. It would be beneficial for the process department to find an alternative that allows for the recovery of THF, which is a solvent raw material used as a catalyst in the hydration reaction of Technical Boscalid.
