    Abstract:
Population aging increases the prevalence of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, which is associated with a progressive loss of functional autonomy. This study analyzes the scientific evidence regarding the effects of structured physical exercise on older adults with Alzheimer's. It includes seven randomized clinical trials published between 2016 and 2026, featuring interventions based on aerobic, strength, combined, and functional exercise. The results suggest that physical exercise can contribute to maintaining or partially improving functional autonomy—particularly during mild or early stages—although no optimal modality or dosage has been established.
