An Exploratory Analysis of Superyacht Crew Preferences for Wintering Marinas: The Case of Tarragona

    Authors:  Acar, Ibrahim Salih
    Abstract:
This exploratory study reframes the wintering marina as a temporary living environment for superyacht crew, not mere berthing infrastructure. Drawing on a small survey of crew and captains (N = 32) at Port Tarraco in Tarragona, it examines how they weigh port factors. The findings suggest both groups share similar priorities — safety foremost — and that Port Tarraco's offer appears sound, with airport access its main relative gap. Given the small sample, results are read as indicative.
