Global impact of postoperative conservative treatment on the multidimensional reduction of lipedema symptoms

Abstract:
Lipedema is a chronic, progressive disease that primarily affects women, causing a painful accumulation of adipose tissue, functional limitations, and a reduced quality of life. This study evaluated the effect of postoperative conservative treatment in fifteen patients who underwent surgery, with follow-ups at three, six, and twelve months. Following the intervention, pain and limb volume decreased significantly. An anti-inflammatory diet and lymphatic drainage showed no significant associations with clinical outcomes, whereas physical activity showed a favorable trend. The study concludes that surgery is fundamental within a multimodal therapeutic approach.
