Abstract:
This study evaluates the effect of omega-3 fatty acid supplementation on arachidonic acid levels in the cell membranes of pediatric patients with cystic fibrosis. A meta-analysis of six randomized clinical trials was conducted. The results showed a significant reduction in arachidonic acid following the intervention. These findings indicate that omega-3 supplementation promotes lipid balance in this population, reinforcing its potential utility in addressing altered metabolism in pediatric cystic fibrosis.
