    Abstract:
This study examines the potential tourism impact of UNESCO recognition for the transnational serial candidature “The Material Testimonies of State Formation in the Pyrenees: the Co-principality of Andorra.” Based on interviews with residents and visitors, it explores how UNESCO designation could influence Andorra’s international destination image and diversify its tourism offer. The findings indicate that UNESCO recognition is perceived as a means of strengthening cultural value and enhancing destination image, potentially supporting tourism diversification. However, it may also contribute to constructing and communicating a curated national narrative, reflecting Andorra’s distinctive cultural and institutional identity as the world’s only co-principality.
