    Abstract:
The purpose of this work it’s about the interpretation of 16 marble blocks, preserved the majority in the basement of carolingian tower of the Gerunda (Girona) walls, ascribed to be part of an arcuated roman monument of clear honorific valence, ornamented its archivolts with a frieze of acanthus scrolls. The study proposes both the reconstruction of this monument from the preserved blocks, as a functional (location) and chronological proposal of this. Also, the research on the geological origin of the marble used in the monument is presented.
