Abstract: In this work we analyze the settlement patterns from the hinterland of the city of Uruk to determine the relationships that could have existed during the Third Dynasty of Ur. For that we have studied the path of the channel network distributed along the hinterland of the cities of Uruk and Larsa from satellite images. The use of a database developed from prospecting works in the area and its representation in the computer program QGIS allowed us to visualize the distribution of the settlements. Both elements, the analysis of the satellite images jointly with the database of settlements let us put back the channel system and to study the relationships between the different groups of settlements.
