    Abstract:
The project arises from the need of the promoter, ANAV, to know the conservatism of the floor response spectrums of his buildings. These spectrums show the maximum response in acceleration that produces a seismic action in a determinate structure. The objective is to calculate for different buildings situated in the nuclear power plants of Ascó and Vandellós II, the floor response spectrums with a methodology suggested by the promoter, the method based in the modal analysis of Sackman & Kelly, to evaluate the margins of security that present these buildings respect the original spectrums. In the project are studied those buildings or structural elements that can simplify as a system of 2, 3 and 4 plants where considers that all the mass contained in each plant concentrates in a single point, that is to say, that his modal analysis result in an analysis of 2, 3 or 4 degrees of freedom. For this is decided to create an interactive application of calculation in Visual Basic that allows, after selecting the building of interest and the different influential parameters in the calculation, the development of the floor response spectrums with the methodology of Sackman & Kelly and check them with the original spectrums provided by the promoter.
