Com mesurar la percepció de les habilitats digitals: diferències de gènere entre l'alumnat de primer cicle de primària

    Abstract:
    Digital technologies provide new opportunities for employment and education; however, women’s access and participation in new technologies is often constrained. To combat the digital gender divide, it is necessary to conduct further research on pupils’ gender stereotypes and self-perceptions of skills from an early age. The objective of our research is to design and develop an instrument that measures potential gender differences in primary school pupils’ self-perceptions of their digital and mathematical skills. This article presents the construction and validation process of an instrument; in the first stage there is judgment of experts (n=9) and pre-piloting (n=28), and in the second stage there is a psychometric test measuring the reliability and external validity of the instrument in a pilot sample of primary school pupils (n=144). The instrument is valid and reliable and could be useful to teachers and researchers, interested in addressing the digital gender divide and supporting females’ self-perception of skills.
