    Abstract:
This dataset was created for the purpose of analyzing data that was published in the article titled "Profiling Bitter Taste Receptors (TAS2R) along the Gastrointestinal Tract and their Influence on Enterohormone Secretion. Gender- and Age-Related Effects in the Colon". The aim for this dataset was to describe the presence of different bitter taste receptors (TAS2Rs) in different segments of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT), the effect of ageing, location (ascending/descending colon) and sex on the expression of these receptors in the human colon, the expression of these receptors in a cellular study model (HuTu-80 ) and the effect of specific bitter agonists on the secretion of enterohormone GLP-1 in the cellular model. It contains the Ct numbers of the expression of samples in different segments of the GIT, some basic information of the samples obtained from colon for the purpose of identifying their study cohort, the expression Ct numbers of the bitter taste receptors in the cellular model, and the levels of GLP-1 secreted from the cells after stimulation with specific bitter ligands.
