    Resumen:
The biomarkers of dilatation of the ascending aorta (DAA) in the bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) are not clear. Through epigenetics and lipid analysis we were able to conclude that there are several related factors. miR-122, miR-130a, miR-486 correlate with the VAB morphotype while miR-718 is associated with DAA (article 1). In addition, there is a pattern of miRNA linked to EMP that is related to endothelial damage in VAB in a cluster of genes located in the 14q32 locus of chromosome 14 (article 2). Finally, lipoproteins rich in triglycerides are associated with a greater increase in the diameter of the ascending aorta in VAB (article 3). All these biomarkers could be used in the screening and risk stratification of our patients.
